We just finished up three great shows with three other bands for the Louisiana Crossroads "Accordion Blowout" concert. Kristi and Eva Ybarra (Conjunto) had some time backstage to compare notes, and learn a new tune, which we then performed onstage. "Hey Baby Que Paso?" It was a really fun series of shows, we were honored to be a part of it. |

Join the front line of Bonsoir, Catin for some old-style accordion/ fiddle magic at NUNU's in Arnaudville on Sunday, September 25. A performance and interview will be preceded by a jam led by Kristi and Anya and open to musicians of all levels. The fun starts at 2pm, $5 admission, kids free. Food and drinks are available for purchase, BYOB. Nunu's is located at 1510 Hwy. 93, Arnaudville in the old Singleton lumber building. Come join us!! |

Catins involved in CD project for LA31 beer |

We recorded 2 songs at Dockside Studio for a very cool album being produced for our favorite local beer, LA31. What a blast! The album is made up of covers of familiar Rock 'n Roll tunes, performed in French by Cajun bands. We recorded "Oh Darlin" (Oh Catin) and "You're No Good" (T'est Pas Bon). The record is finished and set to be released on Wednesday, October 5th at Vermilionville. Bonsoir, Catin will be there to play a 20-30 minute set, in a line-up that also includes Feufollet and Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys. Limited advance tickets are $15 - click here. |
Bayou Teche Brewing sponsored a dance contest at Mulate's on Sunday, May 22, with music by the Catins. The contest took place in 3 rounds: the first was a large elimination round to select the top four couples who competed in the semi-finals. The top two couples in the semifinals competed in the final round to crown the overall best dancing couple. The winner was....Mr. Melancon and his partner (of course!) and they won a pair of meat smokers.
